Oct. 18th Dr. Doug Garnar, retired history professor, to speak


Sunday Oct. 18th at 10:30 AM worship, Dr. Doug Garnar, a retired history professor from Broome Community College and is also a Presbyterian elder, will speak at CCC. His message on “Beyond Religious Intolerance & Dogmatism Towards a New Spirituality: The People of Abraham Project” will highlight the ongoing conversations between Christians, Jews and Muslims in Broome County. Garnar is currently serving on the National Issues Forum Institute, promoting civic engagement in social issues.

The sermon series on the book of James will continue, looking at chapters 3-4,“My Way or the Highway is Not God’s Way.”  Choir Anthem is “The Prayer.”  A hymn by Carolyn Winfrey Gillette, "“We Come to This Table” will be one of the 
congregational hymns. 
World Communion Sunday Offering is to benefit Chuck & Ruth Fox, American Baptist missionaries working in Thailand. Missionaries have to raise their own funds to support their work.
